1 Day Left Until HARRY POTTER!

I am so stoked to get my hands on this book. I have been waiting now 2 years for the conclusion to this amazing story. For me it all started back when I was pregnant with Carson. I was tired after working at the dental office as an assistant and needed something to do at night while Darin was studying. There was all this talk about Harry Potter! Harry shmarry! I was sick of hearing about it and not knowing anything about it. So I did it, I borrowed the first book from a neighbor and read. Oh, I was hooked after the 1st chapter. I loved it, and couldn't wait to read the next. At the time there was only 3 books out so it didn't take long to catch up. Now I await tomarrow for the final book. I like to get the book as soon as it comes out, stay up late into the night, getting sucked away to Hogwarts and escaping everything in my life just for a few hours. I don't know but somehow it's exhilarating. But I have to finish the book within the first few days or else it gets risky because everyone starts talking about it and theres a slight chance that i might overhear something that could ruin it for me. I just can't take that chance. I think i might just have to head over to Hastings at midnight tomarrow and start the experience! Can't wait!!

Bull Trout Lake

We just got back from camping at Bull Trout Lake. It is just between Lowman and Stanley. This was the first camping trip with just our little family. I must say the first day of packing, driving and setting up everything was a drag. I was ready to pull out my hair and call it quits but the next morning everyone else started packing up and left. How rad was that! The whole lake to ourselves. It was even warm enough to swim in. That day we spent tie-dying our
t-shirts and went fishing with the kids. Carson caught a fish with the first cast. We laughed and screamed cause we were so excited. Carson had a blast with his first sling shot. Dad bought him one just before leaving and I was so glad cause it kept him busy! Anyone that knows Carson knows that if he is busy than everyone else is happy cause he is leaving us alone. It was fun watching the kids learn about the outdoors. A couple of examples are when Carson wanted to feel the sap on the tree to see how hard it was. Ya, hello, you don't touch sap! Then he tried to go wash his hands down at the lake which only smeared it worse. Needless to say he won't touch sap again. We enjoyed spending time with each other and making our little Davis laugh. Carson and him have a special little bond. He counted down the days for him to arrive and now loves him so much. Both him and Chelsea tell me that they "love their brother" all the time. its really cute. Davis had some serious bed hair. Kinda crazy but we even have to comb his hair too. Carson thinks he looks sooo funny in this picture. one day he will look back and see how lame he looks. Kids will be kids I guess.

Our Traditional 4th of July

We had a fantabulous 4th and Carson loved every minute of it. The Frederiksen 4th of july is the same every year! We anticipate the buying of the fireworks, or Carson does as we drive past every firework stand on our way to the grocery store. He tried to convince me one day to stop and buy some before all the other people buy them out. Just was so worried that he wouldn't get a chance fill his need to play with fire. Is it a boy thing or what? Anyway, back to the Frederiksen 4th. We usually have a BBQ with Dellas and Nancy during the day and then head to the WATER PARADE as we call it. Its your typical parade but then at the end come the fire engines and water trucks with their big, massive hoses. The boys come prepared with their piddley water guns and try to fight the big boys. In the end, they get hammered! Its pretty funny to watch. I must admit that when its 100+ outside im even tempted to jump in the fight! Afterward, we go over to Dellas and Nancy's for some deciduous (delicious) homemade ice cream w/toppings and set off our own fireworks late into the night. Not to mention watching everyone elses illegal ones. This year we captured some fabulous pics of the kids and decided to take some family ones while we were decked out in our 4th attire.

Geneology Trip to Ogden

My sister M and I took a last minute trip to Ogden Utah this last week. You say why the heck go to ogden? Well, my grandma's youngest sister is still alive at 81 and agreed for us to come and see what she had done with her geneology. We didn't even really know where we were going to stay. We were hoping that my Aunt D would offer a bed for us. So M and I piled in the car for a fun and wild drive. We had a blast! She makes me laugh every time im around her cause she is just funny! When we got there she had books all ready for us to look at. Wow, they were amazing! She told us stories about my grandma that I had never heard. It was neat to listen to her and view her perspective on life. The best part of it was was that she let us take her photo album home and make the copies that we wanted. So I have pictures of my ancestors clear back into the 1800's....Priceless
We left that night in search of a motel only to find out that basically every motel in ogden was packed due to a jehovah witness convention and baseball tournements. We drove around for probably an hour trying to find a place to sleep and finally we found the Ben Lomond hotel that had 3 smoking rooms left. We took it! The next day we went to the library to look up some things on microfilm. That was interesting looking at old newspapers in the 1940's and 50's. Afterwards my Aunt D took us out to lunch at the Greenery and had the famous Mormon muffin which was divine. We even had to get extra to go. The last stop was visiting the Ben Lomond Cemetary were my grandma and her sisters are buried. It was touching to learn about them and their personalities and then visit their grave. how I wish I could go back in time and get to know them. Now I am in the middle of putting together a book for my dad about his mom who died when he was 9. I cant wait until he opens it. It is going to be a lot of work but so worth it.
